I think that nowadays teenagers read less than their parents because of the internet, computer games and social webs which take too much time. But I like reading and try to read regularly. I like to read short stories, because their final is usually unpredictable. Also I read some classic novels, in my opinion it’s important to improve your erudition and vocabulary. Besides reading I do sport in my free time, and never forget to spend some amount of time with my friends.

I would like you to recommend me some book that you lately read and liked. Let me know the title!

Dear Ben,

Thank you for your last letter. I have the same situation as you do with my older sister. I hate when somebody makes me do dishes!

But in general I like housework. I enjoy making up my room and decorating our apartment for holidays. The less pleasant things are: cleaning dishes and taking care of my grandmother’s cat. I wish I had my own pet. A dog would be great! But I think that living in a big city is harmful for dogs: there is no places to walk them and the air is extremely polluted. Choosing between city and countryside? I choose the second, because I love nature, trees and fresh air.

Thank you for your letter. I'm glad that your opinion about museums has changed.

I don't think that visiting museums and exhibitions is boring, but you need to choose something you are interested in. For example, a retro-car museum would never be boring for a person who's interested in cars. However, if you are indifferent to cars but love flowers, it would be better to go to a flower exhibition. The last museum I visited was a historical museum. Our teacher took us there last Wednesday. It was interesting, but the museum was very small. I would really like to visit the State Historical Museum in Moscow — it has a very rich collection of artefacts. I hope I'll see it one day.

Dear Rod,

It's nice to hear from you, and I apologize I couldn’t write you back earlier.

I’m sure that people should do sports to keep fit. If I don’t practice any sport I feel bad and depressed. This year I started to attend yoga classes regularly and I like it a lot. The problem is that the majority of time I’m not moving: with all those classes and tasks, internet and social webs people are not physically active at all. In my PE classes at school we play different sport games, such as volleyball and football. We also do running, and many kinds of physical exercises.

It is funny that the test told you you’ll be a doctor!

When I grow up I want to travel a lot, and I want my job to be related with travelling. I’m very communicative and like to meet new people, so being an international journalist would be perfect for me. And of course English will be necessary for my future career, because it’s a main international language which is spoken in many countries. My parents disagree with my choice: my mom wants me to be a teacher, just like she. And my dad told me that he sees me as a lawyer. But none of these jobs attracts me.

Thank you for your last letter. Sorry I haven't written before as I was very busy with my studies. It's really great that your team is going to take part in the national competition. I wish you luck.

In your letter you ask me about sport. I do love sport and I enjoy my PE classes, we have them three times a week. My favourite sport activities are running and swimming, I go to the swimming pool every day. Personally, I dream about taking part in the Olympics because it's the most exciting sports competition in the world.

I like to watch many kinds of movies: from old ones to the moderns. My favorite genre is thriller, because it’s very scary and unpredictable. I watch films almost every day at home, but I have to admit that watching them on wide screen is much cooler. All the special effects and the way the actors play seems way more impressing. If I make a film one day it will be related with biography, my childhood and the people who surround me. In other words It will be very intimate.

Visiting Russia if you learn the language is a brilliant idea! And I’m pretty sure that the best season is winter, because Russian winters are very beautiful, but cold as well, so don’t forget to take the warmest closes with you! The main tourist centers are Moscow and St.Petersburg and I guess you should visit them both, to see the Kremlin and to visit the famous Hermitage. I would recommend you to go to some theater (doesn’t matter in which city) and watch some classical Russian ballet. I would like to travel to Italy because of its culture, food and language.

I would like to take part in some sort of designer’s competitions, when everyone should make and present their individual project. I think that participating in competitions worth the time and effort because it’s a great chance to show your individual abilities, obtain a new experience and if you win, it’s also a good reason to be proud of yourself. And it’s always a pleasure to receive a prize even if not a main one. I would like to win an opportunity to go studying somewhere.

It's nice to hear from you. I’m sure you’ll pass your exams successfully.

In Russia we have different number of exams each year. In my grade we have two. The obligatory one is math (oh, I should prepare so hard to pass it successfully) and the other each student can chose by himself. I have chosen English because I have a pretty strong sense of language and I prefer oral exams, because I hate tests. Plus, the regular practice with you, as an English-speaking pen friend helps me a lot. Thanks! As a preparation for my exams I usually read and reread all the past material in my notebook and try to remember it. And it works!
